The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were enjoying the weekend.

Terrapin Beer Gets Musical New Look

Terrapin Beer is turning up the volume on its roots. On January 29, the Athens, Georgia–born brewery — now owned by Tilray Brands — unveiled a sweeping brand refresh that leans hard into its hometown ties and long-running connection to music and art.

The brewery, whose name nods to the Grateful Dead, is rolling out several updates designed to make that influence louder and clearer.

  • New Slogan – Terrapin’s new tagline, “Terrapin Beer. Sounds good.”, gives a wink to the brewery’s music-inspired origin story, which dates back to its founding in 2002.
  • Album-Worthy Packaging –  Every beer in the lineup is getting refreshed artwork inspired by classic rock imagery and lyrics. Updated labels for beers like Hopsecutioner IPA and Cerveza pull visual cues straight from the Grateful Dead universe.
  • Artist-Driven Can Design –  The new look comes courtesy of a lineup of well-known illustrators, including Matt Leunig, Brian Steely, Justin Helton, Derek Perez, Owen Murphy, and others, giving the brand a bold, poster-art feel.
  • A Refreshed Logo – Terrapin has also tweaked its logo and overall visual style to make the brand more recognizable and consistent across cans, social media, and merch.
  • Pop-Cultural Positioning – Under Tilray’s umbrella, the refresh helps Terrapin double down on its music-forward, Athens-based identity, while sibling brewery SweetWater Brewing continues to spotlight its Atlanta roots.

“Terrapin Beer Co. is known for its love of music, creativity and, above all, great beer,” said The new art brings a vibrancy and boldness to the brand that it hasn’t had before, while also staying true to its roots, said Madison Faivre, Senior Brand Manager of Terrapin Beer Co. “”Terrapin is a cherished brand in the craft brewing space. This refresh is like a new cover of your favorite song – classic, but with an exciting new feel.”

The redesigned packaging is already starting to hit retail shelves, with the rest of the portfolio expected to make the switch over the next month.

Ska Brewing Debuts Low-Dose Hemp Tonic

Ska Brewing is kicking off 2026 on a decidedly mellow note. The Durango, Colorado–based brewery has introduced a new non-alcoholic, hemp-derived social tonic aimed at folks looking for something fizzy and festive without the alcohol.

Say hello to Ska Lo Dose sparkling beverages….beverages that deliver alight kinda buzz.

Timed perfectly for ski season, or really any hang where you want to keep things light, the new low THC line comes in three flavors: Lemon Lime, Passionfruit Mango, and Dragonfruit

Each can features a balanced cannabinoid blend of 1.5mg THC and 25mg CBD, crafted to deliver a subtle, easygoing buzz that’s more about smoothing the edges than stealing the spotlight. The drinks are also relatively light on the nutrition front, with 8 grams of sugar and 30 calories per serving — bubbly, flavorful, and designed to keep things comfortably social.

“We’ve been in the creative beverage world long enough to know what matters,” says Ska Co-Founder Dave Thibodeau. “Moderation, intention, and trust. This new option isn’t a reaction—it’s a continuation of what we already believe in. It’s about staying present, staying social, and keeping things feeling right—especially when the world feels a little noisy.”

Lo Dose will be available at Ska’s World Headquarters and at retailers around Colorado.
