The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were enjoying the weekend.

Corona Brings Beach Vibes to Baseball

Baseball season is almost here, and Corona is leaning into the laid-back side of the game.

Ahead of the 2026 season, the beer brand—official cerveza of Major League Baseball—is rolling out a campaign called “This Is Our Playa.” The idea is simple: the ballpark can feel a lot like the beach. Both are places where fans slow down, soak in the moment, and enjoy a cold beer.

The campaign will run throughout the season, starting with the World Baseball Classic and continuing across major MLB moments. Corona is also expanding its roster of player partners. Along with returning names Mookie Betts and Ronald Acuña Jr., the brand has added Jazz Chisholm Jr., Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jeremy Peña, Cristopher Sanchez, James Wood, and Eduardo Rodriguez. Expect to see those players featured in content highlighting how they relax and find their rhythm both on and off the field.

Corona will also have a presence during the 2026 World Baseball Classic in the U.S., tying into MLB’s “El Beisbol Es Otra Cosa” campaign, which celebrates the culture and global reach of the sport. A special episode during the tournament will spotlight Acuña Jr., exploring his story and connection to the game.

In Miami, the brand has commissioned a mural from Cuban-American artist Ivan J. Roque celebrating baseball’s cultural diversity and the shared spirit of “La Playa.” Fans can see it at the corner of Miami Avenue and 7th Street.

Opening Day will bring another round of Corona tie-ins. The company is partnering with Jomboy Media for a mix of livestreams and baseball content, including coverage around the popular Talkin’ Yanks podcast and other shows across the network.

More fan experiences tied to the campaign are expected later in the season, as Corona continues to blend baseball culture with its signature beach-day mindset.

Bitburger Debuts Fresh New Can Design

new 16oz bitburger beer can.German brewery Bitburger is rolling out a new look for its beer cans in 2026. The updated design keeps the brand’s classic elements but adds a cleaner, more modern style meant to stand out more easily on store shelves.

The timing lines up with Bitburger’s growing presence in the United States. The brewery has seen steady gains recently, helped in part by the launch of its 12-pack format in 2025, and the brand says the refresh is meant to build on that momentum.

The new packaging has already appeared in some international markets and is now starting to reach the U.S. Four-packs are beginning to show up in stores, with 12-packs of Bitburger Premium Pilsner arriving this spring and Bitburger 0.0 Premium Pils Alcohol-Free following later in the year.

Both beers are brewed in Bitburg, Germany, where the brewery has been operating since 1817. Bitburger’s flagship Premium Pilsner clocks in at 4.8% ABV, while the 0.0 version offers a similar flavor profile without the alcohol and still follows Germany’s traditional beer purity laws.

With the new look rolling out, the brewery says it’s betting that more drinkers will continue gravitating toward crisp, straightforward lagers like its classic pilsner.
