With soccer fans already in mania-mode at this summer’s World Cup games, Guinness is stepping into the stadium with a brilliant piece of marketing.

The legendary Irish brewer just unveiled a pair of fully functional binoculars designed to look exactly like two iconic pints of stout, complete with a dark body and a creamy white head. Marketed as a “clear pint of view,” this clever “binos” speak directly to fans stuck in the nosebleed seats.

Unfortunately, you can’t just buy these novelty specs on the official Guinness webstore. Guinness only manufactured only four pairs of these things worldwide, instantly turning this brilliant piece of beer swag into an international collector’s item.

The Guinness Binocular Sweepstakes is ON and  running through June 27. And the entry process couldn’t be easier: 21+ fans just need to hit up the Guinness Instagram site and leave a comment, ideally positive, using the hashtag #GuinnessBinocularsSweepstakes.

Each set comes with a smart-looking leather carrying case and, we gotta admit, their collectable value through the roof, so you know what to do.

Scots Drink Boston Lager Dry

Boston was selected to host two of Scotland’s FIFA World Cup matches this year. And on June 16^th  members of the “Tartan Army” hit Boston in droves to support their team and ended up wiping out most of Samuel Adams Boston Lager in town.

“As large groups of Scots swarmed Boston this week to experience the best of American culture while cheering on their soccer team, they found the Samuel Adams downtown Boston taproom. And they happily stayed for more than one pint!”

Savage told Fox News the taproom ran out of Samuel Adams Boston Lager over the weekend because the Tartan Army drank them dry.

“For perspective, from Thursday-Sunday, the Tartan Army drank four times as much Boston Lager as we run through on a typical four-day holiday stretch, like the Fourth of July,” Savage said.

“We’ve had to schedule four ’emergency deliveries’ to the taproom. We sold more than 4,000 pints of Boston Lager for almost 90 empty kegs.”

Savage said there are 20 beers on tap there, “including many you can only get at the taproom” — but the Scottish fans were basically only drinking Boston Lager.

Scotland is set to play Morocco on Friday in Boston and Brazil on June 24 in Florida.
