2019 is ON! And breweries are addressing the winter months with a variety of uber-interesting cold-weather offerings…And we’ve five new craft beer directions that you’ll want to chase down.
Brut Force (Milwaukee, WI) – After a year of testing recipes Lakefront Brewery will finally be entering the Brut IPA arena in mid-February. Brewed to emulate the clear, bubbly and flavorful character of champagne. Lakefront Clean Machine is a dry and refreshing 6.8% ABV Brut IPA with distinct grapefruit, tangerine and pineapple notes.
Firestone Walker Bottles a Draft Only IPA 2019 (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker will soon be debuting something special as part of its forthcoming Lion’s Share mixed 12-pack. Santa Lucia is a next-generation unfiltered 7% ABV West Coast IPA inspired by Firestone Walker’s flagship Union Jack but with its own unique blend of Cashmere, Azacca, Amarillo, Hallertau Blanc and El Dorado hops. The result is a fresh twist on a Firestone Walker classic, combining a bold malt foundation with a progressive hop profile.
UpCountry Releases A First (Asheville, NC) –UpCountry Brewing is debuting the first beer from its Back Road Barrel-Aged Series. Aged in specially cured red wine barrels, UpCountry Lindy Belgian Tripel is an aggressive 9.8% ABV Strong Golden Ale that pairs notes of bold Bordeaux and seasoned oak with yeasty esters and fruity aromas.
Hazyish (Boulder, CO) – Avery Brewing has added a new full-time beer to its 2019 national distribution portfolio. Hazyish IPA is the result of Avery’s two-year effort to craft a hazy IPA that has all the characteristics of beloved style, but with a consistent and stable haze. (7% ABV)
A White Winter (Portland, ME) – Late to canning Allagash Brewing is FINALLY offering, what some consider to be the brewery’s most iconic beer, in 16oz cans. Brewed with oats, malted wheat, and un-malted raw wheat for a hazy, “white” appearance Allagash White is a classic 5.2% Witbier brewed with Nugget, Crystal, Czech Saaz hops and deftly spiced with coriander, curaçao and orange peel.
