Spring releases continue to overtake winter offerings in our latest collection of new beers for 2018…And we’ve five intoxicating craft beer directions that you might want to chase down as we look forward to winter’s exit.
This Meg Is ‘Madder Than Ever’ (Austin, TX) – Jester King is returning the latest iteration of the brewery’s famed Provision Ale. Dubbed a “bière de provision,” essentially meaning a beer suitable for keeping, Jester King Mad Meg Batch 17 is a 7.6% ABV Wild Ale that was inspired the French brewery Brasserie Thiriez as well as Brasserie Dupont Avec Les Bons Vœux.
Up To More Tomfoolery (Hammonton, NJ) – Southern New Jersey’s family- owned Tomfoolery Brewing has just released something they call an East Coast-style IPA and we’re just fine with that. Double dry-hopped on Citra and Mosaic and brewed with flaked oat and wheat, Tomfoolery Eastie Boys is a 6% ABV “East Coast” style India Pale Ale that does all the things that those New England IPAs do, but just from New Jersey.
Just Peachy (Idaho Springs, CO) – Tommyknocker Brewery & Pub has just introduced a new year-round offering that takes the traditional cream ale to the woods. Tommyknocker Palisade Peachwood Cream Ale is 4.5% ABV refresher that uses wood staves from local peach trees to take things in a direction that’s “just peachy.”
Aloha! (San Diego, CA) – Ballast Point Brewing is taking a new Sculpin IPA variation national and it’s hitting retail now. Brewed using Bruxellensis Trois yeast, which the brewery credits with adding to the beer’s tropical spin, and a special medley of hops that brighten the beer’s refreshing notes of pineapple, and mango, Ballast Point Aloha Sculpin is the brewery’s newest year-round, a 7% ABV India Pale Ale that takes their flagship IPA in a decidedly tropical direction.
Coffee Or Beer? (Newport, OR) – Rogue Ales has introduced something truly unique, a Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee and beer blend that drinks like the perfect amount of cream in your coffee. Bold yet surprisingly smooth at the same time, Rogue Cold Brew 2.0 is a 5.6% ABV Blonde Ale/Cold Brew Coffee creation that was crafted using Sterling hops, Stumptown coffee, cacao nibs, American Ale yeast and free range coastal water.
