Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with an exciting roster of new beers you’re gonna want to have around.

Elvis Is In The House (Portland, OR) – Just before the long 4th of July holiday, Gigantic Brewing released a new beer that was inspired by an iconic Elvis impersonator, John “Elvis” Schroder who has been performing as “The King” around Portland for over 40 years.

Brewed as a fundraiser for the King, “who was evicted this spring and has still not moved to a permanent new home” according to Willamette Week, Gigantic Portland Elvis Gold Lager is 5% ABV limited release that is both a nod to the Portland legend as well  as to Budweiser: The King of Beers.  Proceeds from this special Weird Portland United Series release are being directly donated to John to assist him in securing new living arrangements.

Buy A Merican (Redding, CA) – Just in time for Summer, Merica Beverage Co is embarking on a mission to ensure that” No Mouth Shall go Unrefreshed,” with the launch of its flagship brand. Described by its founders as “the refreshing taste of the American spirit,” Merica Light Beer is a crisp and approachable 4.2% ABV refresher, “Made for the dreamers, the hard workers, the adventurers, the everyday America and everyday Americans.”

To celebrate their launch, Merica hosted an early release party for their hometown of Redding, CA at which they were welcomed as the newest face to the robust Northern, CA beer scene.

Can’t Beat The Reaper (Munster, IN) – Three Floyds Brewing, has a new addition to its boundary-pushing craft beer portfolio that we can’t wait to get our hands on.  The brewery’s first year-round West Coast IPA offering, 3 Floyds Turbo Reaper is a  medium-bodied 7% ABV India Pale Ale with a moderate bitterness and notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and mango.

We went with a West Coast IPA because we wanted to create a bright, hoppy, and drinkable IPA that you can see through,” says Brewmaster Chris Boggess. “This beer leans a little more modern with its tropical hop aroma and flavor, plus a citrusy backbone.”
