2023 is ON and American craft brewers are addressing the new year with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.
Trouble Doubled (Hershey, PA) – Just in time to fight the winter doldrums and post-holiday blues, Tröegs Independent Brewing is releasing an interesting spin on its iconic once-a-year Imperial Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar. An uber-limited release built around one of Nugget Nectar’s key ingredients: Simcoe hops, Tröegs Double Nugget Nectar is a 9.5% ABV Imperial Amber Ale with complex notes of apricot, peach rings and juicy orchard fruit.
“My favorite meeting is with our Scratch Beer creative team,” said brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “That’s where we came up with the concept of Double Nugget. Built around Simcoe hops, one of Nugget Nectar’s key ingredients, Double Nugget exhibits bold notes of apricot, peach rings and bright citrus. Bringing this beer to life proved to be a fun balancing act.”

Infinite (San Diego, CA) – Alpine Beer (which is now owned by SweetWater Brewing, a subsidiary of cannabis lifestyle company Tilray Brands) has a hazy new addition to its year-round portfolio that’s available now in California, with plans for a national rollout later this year.
Crafted using a specially curated blend of Motueka, Strata and Citra hops, Alpine Infinite Haze is a 6.6% ABV India Pale Ale with bright citrus zest and berry aromatics and fresh apple, peach, and orange peel notes.
“With consumers still craving haze, we’ve created a flagship Hazy IPA that stands out from the crowd with a unique taste and aroma. The hop bill is a nice balance of New Zealand and classic West Coast varieties, giving this brew a great mouthfeel, giant fruit aromas, and a super juicy flavor,” says Ty H. Gilmore, President, US Beer at Tilray Brands. “It’s a natural fit with our iconic unfiltered IPA, Nelson, and original West Coast-style IPA, Duet, that make up our highly acclaimed year-round lineup.”
Maibock Moon (Portland, OR) – Ecliptic Brewing has reopened its revamped and re-envisioned second location, the Moon Room and they are celebrating things with the latest beer in their Moon Room Series. Brewed with a Munich and Victory malts, and delicately hopped with Hallertau, Tradition and Northern Brewer, Moon Room Series: Schwarzbier is an approachable 4.5% ABV dark lager with low bitterness and a dry finish.
