Hazy Seas (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer just announced the first release in 2019 from its 15 barrel experimental brewhouse that’s a different take on the brewery’s flagship IPA, Loose Cannon. Exclusively available in the Heavy Seas Taproom on March 8th in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft, Joose Cannon IPA is a 7.25% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale that’s recklessly unfiltered and brewed with tangerine puree. The new beer’s label artwork was designed by local Baltimore artist, Owen Murphy, of One Drop Design Studio, a terrific artist who also designed Heavy Seas’ 23 Anniversary beer label in December.

Up A Kriek (Hood River, OR) – pFriem Family Brewers craft a great series of Flanders-Style Ales including one that was three and a half years in the making, but well worth the wait. Aged in French oak barrels and foudres from Bordeaux along with more than 1,200 pounds of locally curated Royal Anne Cherries, pFriem Flanders Red Kriek is a 7% ABV masterpiece with cherry pie aromatics and complex notes of strawberry, pinot noir and almond pastries.
