Beer Alert – New Cocktail Beers, Fresh Pilsners And IPA’s

Summer is ON! And brewers are addressing mid- July with a variety of intriguing new beer offerings that pair brilliantly with the season.

Hold My Beer Hon (Baltimore, MD) – On Friday July 26^th, Heavy Seas Beer will be releasing a Heavy Seas Taproom exclusive inspired the “Bmore Snoball” a classic Baltimore summer treat. Available on draft as well as in 4-packs of 16oz cans, Heavy Seas Bmore Snoball is a 5.5% ABV Egg Custard Blonde Ale that was brewed with lots of vanilla and imported, nutty Maris Otter Pale malt to create a surprisingly quaffable desert beer. The amazing label artwork was designed by local Baltimore artist, Owen Murphy, of One Drop Design Studio.

A Day Tripper Sipper (Downers Grove, IL) – Chicagoland’s Alter Brewing Company has returned a popular summer seasonal (both on draft and in 6-pack cans) that was inspired by the classic German tradition. Alter Day Sipper (we do love its name!) is a 4.9% ABV Pilsner that pairs brilliantly with one or two more.

Northern California Dreaming (San Francisco, CA) – Widely known for its historic steam beer, Anchor Brewing also brews an uber-interesting lager that was modeled after California’s first lager. Brewed using Cluster hops (the premier hop in 19th-century California), and their own lager yeast, Anchor California Lager® is a 4.9% ABV refresher that’s truly its own thing. Originally released as a limited draught beer in early 2012 and the first beer to be featured as part of their popular Zymaster® Series, this historic lager is now available all year round.

Cock Tales (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker has debuted one of only six Proprietor’s Vintage releases for 2019. An eccentric barrel-aged mashup of two classic cocktails, the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan, Firestone Walker Old Man Hattan is a blend of the brewery’s signature component beers, including Velvet Merkin, Bravo and Stickee Monkee, aged in whiskey barrels and re-blended to cocktail perfection.
