November is ON with winter to come, and American craft brewers are addressing the changing season with more exciting offerings you’re gonna want have around.
The Director’s Cut (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Mad Elf Ale is a holiday tradition on the East Coast but the brewery also released an uber-limited variation that takes the beloved cherry-fueled Belgian-Style Dark Ale in a tarter direction.
Adding Balaton cherries and the tartness that comes with them to a mix that already includes Bing, Lambert, Van and Royal varieties, Tröegs Mad Elf Grand Cru is a deep burgundy 11% ABV winter limited release that begs to be shared.
“We like to call this the Director’s Cut,” says brewmaster and founding brother John Trogner. “Look for notes of tart cherries, brown sugar, cinnamon and clove.
Into the Stratosphere (Venice, CA) – The Propagator, Firestone Walker’s experimental small-batch brewing facility in SoCal has crafted a new Single Hop limited release that’s exclusively available in the latest “Crafted Thru Hops” IPA mixed pack.
Brewed only with Galaxy hops, an Australian variety that’s immensely popular with brewers of hazy IPAs, to the point that it’s getting harder to get a hold of them , Firestone Propagator Series Galaxy Single Hop IPA is a 6.2% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale with big peach, orange and passionfruit aromatics.
“Galaxy is a passionfruit bomb–it’s super intense and tropical, and it brings a juicy center point of flavor and texture that is perfect for the hazy style,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson… “We’ve had access to small amounts of Galaxy hops before, but this is the first time we’ve had enough to brew a single-hop showcase like this.”
See You In December (Athens, GA) – Creature Comforts Beer has announced the return of a popular winter release that is brewed with Ethiopian coffee and Ecuadorian cocoa nibs. Indulgently rich and velvety, Creature Comforts Koko Buni is a 6.5% ABV Milk Porter with robust toasted coconut, cocoa, and coffee tones that inform but never overpower.
