Winter is ON. And American craft brewers are addressing the season with a full slate of brewed wonders you’re gonna want have around.
Stout Stuff (Longmont, CO) – Oskar Blues Brewery is celebrating winter with two new barrel-aged beauties that stand up to the season Returning for a limited time in 2021, 0skar Blues Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy Imperial Stout is a pitch black 12.5% ABV behemoth that takes decadence to the next level. And making its debut, Oskar Blues BA21 vol.7 is an 11.5% ABV whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout which was crafted with graham crackers, rich chocolate and late additions of cherries.
“The quality of our barrel-aged beer directly correlates to the time that our team puts in when it comes to brewing the beer, blending and emptying the barrels,” said Sara Laurienti, Oskar Blues Longmont’s Director of Brewery Operations.. Barrel-aging is one of the few things that is really ‘all hands on deck’ across all departments in the brewery.”
Drink Hard (Baltimore, MD) -To celebrate the holidays and kick off winter, DuClaw Brewing Company is releasing a new beer that was inspired by a classic Bruce Willis movie. Crafted for fans of Die Hard, one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time, DuClaw Spruce Willis is an explosive, 8.2% ABV Double IPA with piney bursts from real spruce tips, and pops of wintergreen, mango and grapefruit.
“This is a beer that can be enjoyed throughout the colder months,” said DuClaw founder and CEO Dave Benfield. “We wanted to create a little something for everyone that honored timeless holiday flavors but stayed true to our roots of exploring creative ingredients and making new traditions.”
