Summer is ON! And brewers are addressing the mid- July heat with a variety of intriguing new beer offerings that pair brilliantly with the season.
Just Regular Folks (Baltimore, MD) –DuClaw Brewing is countering craft-beer burnout (yah it’s a thing) with something new. A response to customers repeatedly asking DuClaw , a brewery known for its bold sours, double IPA’s and stouts, if they had any “regular beer.” Described as “a beer that tastes like beer,” DuClaw Regular Beer is a straightforward American Lager in a can with label artwork that brilliantly reinforces that point.
Bending Beer (Bend, OR) – The Bend Brewing Company has a new High Desert Hop Series release that’s available in 16oz cans. Brewed with heavy-handed doses of German grown Callista and Ariana hops, with some NW grown Citra for good measure, Bend Urban Surfin’ is a 6% ABV Golden IPA that was inspired by Bend’s Whitewater Park, and a whitewater channel of that runs right through the middle of town where you can actually see people surfing the river.
A Sky High (Littleton, CO) – Breckenridge Brewery has just released a new year-round offering that makes even more sense with summer temps peaking. Brewed with Huell Melon hops that provide a shining complexity to this beer’s ffruit-f0rward notes, Breckenridge Strawberry Sky is a light 4.8% ABV refresher that’s inspired by Colorado’s famously striking red and pink sunsets.
Bending Beer II (Bend, OR) – Deschutes Brewery has released the newest addition to its Just Tapped Series., a line of beers from the brewery’s pubs that created some buzz. First developed at the Portland Public House’s state-of-the-art pilot facility and now ready for prime time, Deschutes Brut IPA is a 6.4% ABV India Pale Ale that leans to the “very dry” side of things.
