Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.

An All-Star Beer (San Diego, CA) – Almost a decade ago, AleSmith released an American original that honored the late Tony Gwynn, San Diego Padres Allstar and Hall of Famer…Originally introduced at Padres Beerfest in 2014, AleSmith San Diego Pale Ale .394, was named after Gwynn’s career-high 1994 batting average, and that beer has gone on to become a core year-round offering for the brewery, as well as a a beloved symbol of the city where it originated.

Crafted to Tony Gwynn’s specifications of being “light with a kick,” this hoppy pale ale captures the essence of San Diego’s craft beer scene. The result of the Gwynn family’s feedback on test batches rendered a 6% ABV golden Pale Ale bursting with American hop notes, a subdued bitterness, and a malty sweet finish.

The beer has quickly become a San Diego favorite and currently makes up roughly 50% of the beer produced at AleSmith. “Seeing how this beer has resonated with fans and beer lovers alike is truly heartwarming,” says Tony Gwynn Jr. “It’s more than just a brew; it’s a tribute to my father’s passion and dedication.” And a portion of the beer’s proceeds go to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation.
