April is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with a full slate of new beers you’re gonna want to chase down.

Marking Six Years Of Serious Beer (Venice, CA) – April marks six years of flowing taps at The Propagator, Firestone Walker’s hot rod pilot brewery in Venice, California. And they’re celebrating the occasion with a riff on our now-classic Propagator house IPA, Gen-1. When The Propagator first opened its doors in 2016, Gen-1 was a progressive step toward the new style of juicier IPA that was just starting to take the American beer market by storm.

Each year The Propagator has expanded on that initial idea and every anniversary delivered a new version that captured where they were at with the IPA that year. And this year’s variation, which they did with El Segundo Brewing who specialize in West Coast Style IPAs, is a revelation.

After years of brewing hazy IPAs and experimenting with new hop varieties and techniques, Firestone Gen-6 is a bright gold 8.6% ABV Double IPA with a huge tropical fruit and citrus/stone fruit aroma, moderate bitterness, and a refreshing finish that makes it dangerously drinkable for its strength. Available now at all Firestone Walker locations Gen-6 can also be ordered at their online store for shipping where available.

Summit’s Home Run (St Paull, MN) – In April 2021, the two beloved Minnesota brands, Summit Brewing and the Minnesota Twins, announced a new partnership that named Summit Brewing an “Official Craft Beer” and the “Official Hometown Craft Beer” of the Minnesota Twins. Nearly a year after announcing the partnership with the Twins, Summit Brewing is releasing a new beer named in honor of its hometown team.

Actually a rebranding of one of the brewery’s most popular releases, Keller Pils, Summit Twins Pils is a 5.1% ABV German-Style Pilsner with craft can artwork that was inspired by the throwback Twins’ jerseys from the 1980s.

“Since its introduction, Keller Pils has been a Summit fan favorite. So much so, what started out as a limited release became a core brand,” said Brandon Bland, Director of Sales… “After years of knowing how good the beer itself was, we knew we had to find a way to get it out to a wider audience.”
