February is just flying by…and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got you covered. From the nation’s coolest beer events to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking.

Iceland Calling – Iceland is celebrating the end of their own 74 years of prohibition (which amazingly didn’t end until March 1st 19891), with the Icelandic Beer Festival a multi-day festival which began on Wednesday and comes to a rousing conclusion this Saturday February 24th. This annual celebration, now in its seventh year, draws industry players from all around the world and breweries we love like Iceland’s own Einstök, London’s Beavertown, Chicago’s Half Acre and Northern Virginia’s Aslin.

On The Big Screen – We read the book and it was a mind-blowing piece of speculative fiction and if director Alex Garland’s (Ex Machina, 28 Days later) gets even half of it right, this new sci-fi thriller which opens nationwide this weekend, could be worth your time. Already credited with being visually stunning and surprisingly strange, Annihilation stars Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh, as military scientists who enter “The Shimmer,” a mysterious quarantined zone in southeastern US coastal region that is mutating into something other-worldly.

Zwickelmania Phase II Returns This Weekend (Oregon) – Zwickelmania, Oregon’s annual state-wide celebration that’s been described as a “backstage pass to Oregon’s best breweries” returns to the Pacific Northwest for what has now become two weekends of fun. Portland was last week (and it was a blast!), and the second phase takes place this weekend…

Central Oregon, Eastern Oregon, Mt. Hood/the Gorge, Southern Oregon, The Coast and the Willamette Valleyort Breweries will all be part of Zwickelmania’s second weekend this Saturday February 24th from 11am to 4pm. Last year, more than 42,500 people toured some 120 Oregon breweries and 2018 is already looking to break records!

This weekend we’ll be celebrating spring’s coming with an almost forgotten early spring style from Boston Beer that grew out Germany’s cold-weather and cave lagering tradition. New and exclusive to the Samuel Adams American Craft Lagers Variety PackSamuel Adam’s Kellerbier (that’s roughly means ‘cellar beer’ in German) is 5% ABV malt-forward lager with just a touch of sweetness and a dry oaky finish.
