American Craft Beer’s ‘All IPA’ Beer Alert

IPA, American Craft Beer’s ‘All IPA’ Beer Alert

This week’s Beer Alert is all about America’s most popular beer style…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Your 75 Minute Wait Is Over! (Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head is introducing a new artist and beer lineup for its Off-Centered Art Series and is kicking things off with the return of a classic IPA. Golden amber in color and flush with woodland citrusy-piney notes, Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA is a 7.5% ABV malt-forward India Pale Ale that’s brewed with maple syrup from Sam Calagione’s (founder and CEO of Dogfish Head) family farm.

Breakside Comes Out (Portland, OR) – Breakside Brewing has a brand new hazy IPA, that’s all about New Zealand hop exotics.  Proudly brewed with the Taiheke hop, a New Zealand-grown version of America’s Cascade, Breakside Coming Out Party is a 7.8% ABV New England-style IPA with intense lemon-lime character and big notes of passionfruit and mango.

Doubling Down On The Hazy Play (Sonoma County, CA) – Bear Republic Brewing showcases some of the hottest new hop varieties including Galaxy, Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon in their latest release. The culmination of years of working to make an unfiltered beer as clear as possible, and then turning that knowledge on its head, Bear Republic Drift Racer is an 8% ABV India Pale Ale with a juicy, fruit forward flavor profile with just enough bitterness.

IPA, American Craft Beer’s ‘All IPA’ Beer AlertYou Do Voodoo (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing will be releasing what they call their “boldest IPA yet” this week,  so be ready to go bold. With its smoky, herbal aroma and a balanced sweetness, Voodoo Ranger Imperial Black IPA is a uber-complex pitch black, 10% ABV India Pale Ale with a smooth mouthfeel and a lingering bitterness.

Jump! (Asheville, NC) –  One of Asheville’s oldest brewing institutions, Green Man Brewery has just released a rockin’ new IPA inspired by Eddie Van Halen and crew. Green Man Van Hazy IPA is a double dry-hopped haze bomb featuring Amarillo, Mosaic, and El Dorado and it’s the first of series of New England India Pale Ales with classic artists and song related names.
