5 Winter Beers For The Holidays

, 5 Winter Beers For The Holidays

It can be difficult keeping up with all the great winter beers at this time of year. But here are some terrific ones that you might want to check out…

A Vintage Year (London, UK) – A worldwide event for both beer lovers and rare beer collectors, Fullers Vintage Ale is the Griffin Brewery’s most anticipated annual release. Every Vintage Ale recipe is unique from the last and brewed to be aged with the flavors developing over time. For this year’s Vintage Ale, Fullers traveled 12,000 miles to New Zealand to source the coveted Wai-Iti hop which is grown on the South Island’s Canterbury Plains. Closer to home, Fuller’s  famous in-house yeast gives the beer its familiar orange marmalade backbone. In the world of winter releases Fuller’s Vintage Ale is always a big find. (8.5% ABV)

Palmetto Peace of Cookie Stout (Charleston, SC) – On Dec 13, Palmetto Brewing will debut a decadent desert beer that’s brewed for the season. Brewed with  a specially curated blend of roasted barley, wheat, oats and cocoa nubs– and sweetened with a touch of milk sugar, Palmetto Peace of Cookie is a 6.9% ABV Export Milk Stout that will par brilliantly with just about every festive occasion.

‘Tis The Season (Providence, RI) – Narragansett Beer is returning an uber-limited release (its smallest commercial batch since 2005) for the 2019 holiday season. The perfect toast to the season. Narragansett Holiday Ale is a 7% ABV Amber Ale brewed with Simcoe hops and cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and orange peel spicing.

, 5 Winter Beers For The HolidaysA Holiday Heavy (Kansas City, MO) – Boulevard Brewing’s winter release is complex, delicious and brilliantly named. Perfect for curling up by the fireplace, Boulevard Snow & Tell is a 6.3% Oak-Aged Wee Heavy that’s aggressively toned with Magnum, Chinook and Styrian Goldings hops

Starstruck (Memphis, TN) – Wiseacre Brewing’s smart winter release looks to proud German brewing traditions for inspiration. Crafted using a rare process known as “mash capping” which consists of crushed roasted grain being spread upon the mash over the top just before the grain is rinsed, Wiseacre Starless is a dark, yet approachable, 5.3% ABV Schwarzbier bittered with bold Bravo hops.
