Community is an integral part of the craft beer ethos, and local brewers in the UK are doing good things to support their communities at this critical time.

Fierce Beer – Aberdeen, Scotland

Though much smaller brewery than BrewDog, which also has its headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland, Fierce Beer, which launched in to 2016 has grown a huge reputation in very short time. It’s also stepping things up to support those at the front lines of this worrisome pandemic.

Last week Fierce announced a “Special Thanks Edition” of their classic American Pale Ale, Day Shift. The new beer, Long Shift, is being brewed to support the country’s National Health Service and the NHS staff who are working tirelessly  to keep the people of the United Kingdom safe.

100% of the proceeds from this 4.1% hoppy pale ale will be donated to NHS Charities Together and NHS Scotland.

Pressure Drop Brewing – London

Just around the corner from Beavertown’ current location in the in the Tottenham Hale neighborhood of London is Pressure Drop Brewing. And they’ve introduced Pay It Forward, an amazing new initiative to help all the pubs, restaurants and retail outlets forced to close while the city waits out this storm.

For every order of 15 cans or more from their online shop, the brewery will pay forward £25 in credit to an independent pub, restaurant or retail outlet of your choice.

Brewgooder – Aberdeen, Scotland

With COVID-19 wreaking havoc in the UK. Brewgooder, another Aberdeen brewery that has worked with BrewDog on several charitable projects in Africa over the years, is turning its charitable directive homeward.

Their One On Us campaign puts the power in your hands and gives you the option to send a round of beers and a thank you message to a heroic member of the NHS.

Simple gestures mean the world to people right now, and Brewgooder has made it easy to send a 4-pack of beers to someone who deserves it. Since launching, over 400 people have logged on and gifted beers to people who may need a drink badly.

Gipsy Hill – South London

Giving Back to the NHS initiatives are spreading across the UK’s craft beer industry. And South London’s Gipsy Hill is giving its fans the chance to buy an NHS worker a pint for just £5.Each pint paid for will be added to a bar tab when Gipsy Hill’s taproom is back up and running.

Just head to their website to contribute and they’ll have a cold one waiting for a hard-working NHS worker when the dust settles and they are able to reopen.

Cloudwater – Manchester. England

Another amazing initiative comeds from Manchester, England’s acclaimed craft brewery. Cloudwater will offer all NHS staff 25% off all beer purchased from their website.

But that’s not all.

The UK brewing  legends have also implemented a token purchasing scheme via their digital store which gives fans the ability to add a £1 token to your shopping basket.

Every time they hit 50 tokens, the team will run a competition to pick an NHS worker at random to win a free care package, which they’ll ship directly to their door.
