Well, it’s not over but many states are lifting restrictions and people have begun to crawling out of their homes like on Groundhog Day.
And we’ve five interesting new releases, all of them IPAs, that pair smartly in a post-COVID-19 world.
Singular (Atlanta, GA) – Creature Comforts Brewing has a new single-hop summer seasonal that’s out of this world. Brewed exclusively with Galaxy hops, Creature Comforts Galactic Space Circus is a 6.6% ABV Hazy IPA that was crafted with lactose sugar and a generous portion of oats added for a creamy and full-bodied mouthfeel.
Volume 12 (LaGrange, GA) – Wild Leap has released Vol. 12 in its uber-poplar Alpha Abstraction Double IPA Series and sounds like it was well worth the wait. Brewed with bright Belma hops, Wild Leap Alpha Abstraction Vol. 12 is an 8% ABV double dry-hopped IPA with a juicy citrus flavor and BIG strawberry and melon notes.
A Triumphant Year-Round (St Paul, MN) – After a successful debut in the 2020 Summit Block Party Box Summit Brewing is taking a 95 calorie IPA year-round. Low-calorie, low-carb, yet hop-forward and bold, Summit Triumphant Session IPA is a 4% ABV India Pale Ale with a balanced bitterness and clean finish.
A Star is Born (Alpine WY) – In 2015, Melvin Brewing moved down river from Jackson Wyoming and built a new production brewery in Star Valley. And they’ve crafted a hop-forward yet approachable beer that celebrates that migration. Light in body and boldly aromatic, Melvin Star Valley IPA is 5% ABV India Pale Ale, that plays well no matter the season.
Essential Potential (Malden, MA) – Idle Hands Craft Ales has a June addition to its lineup that they consider “pretty essential.’’ Dry, crisp and slightly effervescent, Essential Premium Lager is a 5% ABV refresher that was deliberately brewed to have a subtle flavor and aroma.
