PicoBrew, who recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new machine capable of brewing beer, kombucha, coffee, tea and fusion drinks, reached its crowdfunding target in under 90 minutes.

Billing itself as “the world’s first universal brewing machine” PicoBrew’s latest innovation, Pico U, a compact counter-top device capable of brewing a range of different beverages using the company’s PicoPaks has set a new level of crowdfunding success, generating $50,000 in record time.
According to the company Pico U is available in two cleverly named versions, Basic and Deluxe, with the latter capable of brewing beer in larger, five-liter batches.
The Basic, being basic, comes with a mini step filter, glass bruet and coffee filter basket. While the Deluxe (being deluxe) also contains a brew keg and full size step filter.
Expected to be available in 2019, Pico U is the company’s fifth product to be successfully launched through its crowdfunding efforts. And the campaign remains live on Kickstarter where investors are able to claim a series of rewards for their support.
Pico U Basic will go for $169 in the US and Canada…Pico U Deluxe will go for $189 (but don’t forget that includes the all-important brew keg) and given our recent experience with their Pico Model C, which was effective but somewhat space-consuming, we’ll be watching this new brewing product roll-out closely.
Both Pico U versions connect to the internet and also has its own app and according to the Drinks Business, the company is in discussions with Amazon and Google about adding a voice command to virtual assistant Alexa.
