Just days after we begrudgingly called attention to Anheuser-Busch’s impressive 2025 Sustainability Goals, Escondido, California-based Stone Brewing picked up some well-deserved environmental honors.

Here’s the deal…

The California Water Environment Association has awarded Stone Brewing the coveted P3SFacility of the Year in Southern California.

The Public-Private Partnership award recognizes high performing leaders in the areas of waste management and pollution prevention and in a state like California which is so often subjected to drought conditions, this is no small deal.Stone, Stone Brewing Gets Environmental Props

“It is deeply rooted in our ethos to brew outstanding beers with an unwavering commitment to sustainability,” said Greg Koch, Stone Brewing executive chairman & co-founder.

“It’s something we’ve preached since our early days and we work hard to put it in practice every single day. It’s neither cheap nor easy, but we see sustainability as a basic responsibility to the communities in which we reside, and as leaders in the craft beer industry. This is a core value to us.”

Sustainability efforts and community consciousness have long been part Stone Brewing’s DNA so it’s nice to see the nation’s ninth largest craft brewery acknowledged.

In addition to its world-class water-sustainability practices, Stone Brewing limits C02 emissions with rooftop solar panels and is the largest restaurant purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County.

They also happen to brew some SERIOUS beer…
