Boston Beer And Constellation Brands Downgraded (Washington, DC) – Global investment banking firm Goldman Sachs has downgraded Boston Beer, home to Sam Adams and Constellation Brands, home to Ballast Point, citing sluggish beer sales and shifts in demographic tastes.
Goldman Sachs points to two concerning trends – that young drinkers aren’t consuming as much alcohol as previous generations did (see legalized pot) – and that millennials are currently trading beer for wine and spirits.
The multinational finance company now has a SELL rating on the Boston Beer stock and they downgraded Constellation Brands from a BUY rating to a NEUTRAL based on their expectation for US beer volume to decline in 2017.

The Púca Dry Hopped Lemon Sour W/ Berry Hibiscus & Ginger is another brilliant fruit-forward variation on their 3.5% ABV refresher, and we’d love to see it available in the states.
