Golden State Warriors Tribute (San Francisco, CA) – Anchor Brewing is celebrating their hometown Golden State Warriors having clinched a position in the NBA playoffs. And for the remaining month of the basketball season they’ve rebranded one of their most popular beers in support.
Dub Nation is the nickname for Golden State Warriors fans and for the time being Anchor’s California Golden Lager has been dubbed Golden State Warriors Lager. Good Luck with the playoffs gentleman and if you don’t take it all, at least you’ve had a decent beer named after you.

Utah May Enact The Strictest DUI Laws In The Nation (Salt Lake City, UT) – With much of the nation, eyeing the legalization of recreational pot, (whose sole purpose is to deliver serious buzz), we find it ironic that Utah may soon be lowering the blood-alcohol content limit for drivers to .05 percent, down from .08 percent, which is standard for the rest of the country. Hey we’re not supporting drinking and driving, but this new standard hardly allows for a driver to even consume a full beer – and we find it a step too far.
Craft Beer Sales Ups And Downs (USA) – National beer sales declined 1.2% for the start of the year according to market research leader. IRI Worldwide. And the craft beer segment didn’t fare all that much better with volume sales up a paltry 1.6 percent for that period
What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Rouse Hill, AU) – This weekend we’ll be hitting up a saintly Saison from the Australian Brewery, a craft operation that’s relatively new to the states. Saison D’Heretique is a 6.2% ABV Belgian-style Saison Ale that drinks light but packs a hefty punch of white pepper, citrus and clove.
