New “Winter To Spring” Craft Beers At Left Hand Brewing

, New “Winter To Spring” Craft Beers At Left Hand BrewingWith interest in seasonals seemingly at an all-time high, the beers a brewery choses to release at a certain time of year is increasingly important. It used to be that the spring beer segment was and afterthought at best and now progressive producers like Left Hand Brewing are scheduling beers for transition seasons like the “winter to spring” period. And here’s some of what they’ve got planned for the first quarter.

We’re big fans of much of what Longmont, Colorado’s  Left Hand Brewing does, we love their whole Hard Wired Nitro Series and the fact that brewery is employee-owned. We also like how fluid they’ve become. And how open they are to introducing new beers that keep their fans involved, like these new late winter / early spring releases they’ve got planned.

Hard Wired Nitro Coffee Porter clearly falls on the late winter side of things, available now through April this is a beer that makes sense when the days are beginning to warm but the nights not so much. From its rich hard pour head to its light smoky finish this is a beer for right now.

Well Played Red IPA is also available now and will be through April. It’s an Amber IPA that starts sweet and hoppy and finishes dry. We’re beginning to see more of these malt-forward IPA’s at times of transition, like early fall and now spring.  Well Played is planned to emphasize experimental hops and showcase an ever-changing hop menu every year – so there’s that too.

, New “Winter To Spring” Craft Beers At Left Hand BrewingSaison au Miel is part of Left Hand’s Les Quartre Series and we see it as occupying a similar space that the Maibocks do over in Europe in the early spring. Available March through May and brewed using native Colorado wildflower honey, Saison au Miel is a dry and crisp farmhouse style ode to the first flowers of the season.
