, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – October 9, 2015Pros vs. Joes At The 2015 Cheesetoberfest (Dover, DE) – Our friends at Fordham & Dominion are throwing one of our favorite fall season events this Saturday, October 10th and with the weather looking picture perfect, we can’t think of a better reason for a road trip. Cheesetoberfest is an all-out, no holds barred, beer-fueled, grilled cheese competition that features 20 Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Philadelphia restaurants. (THE PROS) VS. 20 random people (JOES) who want to throw down against the best! The brewery screw will be pouring their award winning Octoberfest, and there’s even going to be an “oompah band” rocking it!

On the Big Screen – After a summer of lame releases, your local Cineplex is flush with worthy offerings including The Martian which will be remembered as one of the best , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – October 9, 2015movies of 2015. But there’s also The Walk, a Robert Zemeckis-directed 3D recreation of Philippe Petit’s legendary hi-wire walk across the void between the World Trade Center towers back in 1974.

Asian Beertopia (Hong Kong) – We understand that you probably can’t make this one, but it just sounds so damn cool, that we’re running with it anyway. Beertopia Hong Kong returns for a two-day run (Oct 9th & 10th) this weekend as many of our Asian readers already know. Last year’s event was enormous with over 11,000 attendees enjoying more than 500 different beers. Going into fourth year, this year’s festival will take place at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront – and beer fans from all around the world are expected to attend. . The Leftovers takes place in the intervening years after a global event called the “Sudden Departure”, which caused the inexplicable disappearance of 140 million people, shatters the world’s psyche – and tells the stories of several families struggling to deal with its aftermath. Riveting and unlike anything, even in today’s “Golden Age” of television.
