Burlesque, Aerialists, Jazz Bands, Whiskey  & Beer (New York, NY ) Reputedly owned by infamous mobster Al Capone in the 1920’s, NYC’s Webster Hall is hosting a Prohibition -themed drinking celebration this Saturday, January 16th when he 4th annual East Ville des Folies returns to the big apple. Expect 4 floors of beer and whiskey punctuated by amazing trapeze artists and period flappers – and an afternoon celebration that celebrates the repeal of the Volstead the right way. On The Big Screen – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just announced their nominees for the best films of 2015 and many of them are currently being shown in your local Cineplex. So as part of our ongoing effort to ensure that you don’t come off as a total loser at your next Academy Awards throwdown, we suggest , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – January 15, 2016that perhaps you play a little catch-up. Beer In The City Of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia, PA) – The 2nd annual Big Philly Beerfest returns to Philly this weekend and it’s going to be a blast. This two-evening ( Feb 16th-17th)beerganza, described as the city’s biggest craft beer festival, will feature more than 300 brilliant offerings from over 100 of the region’s most exciting breweries – and all proceeds will go to the dogs (Animal Rescue Partners). Hooks, Lines & Singers (South Walton, Florida) – Combine warm weather with 165+artists performing at 21 venues located along the scenic highway 30A in Northwest Florida – and that sounds like a perfect weekend to us. Described as “the Sundance of songwriter festivals” The 30A Songwriters Festival is a three-day celebration (Jan 15th-17th) of great singers and songs – and it’s unlike any festival that you’ve ever attended. This year’s event features artist like Jackson Brown, Grace Potter, JD Souther and Ani Difranco – and is not to be missed!

Our Weekend Beer Pick

When the weather gets colder, we like our brews darker and bolder – and we’ve a barrel-aged classic for you from the Lakewood Brewing Company. Released in Mid-December Lakewood 2015 Bourbon Barrel Temptress is their beloved Imperial Milk Stout aged for six month in freshly emptied bourbon barrels, and it’s awesome!
