The migration of American brewers to Europe continues to accelerate but we gotta admit that we didn’t see this announcement coming.

That after five years of brewing Louisville Kentucky’s Against the Grain was extending its brand ‘over the pond’ and that they’ve started brewing as Against the Grain Europe with production based in Germany at Brauhaus Binkert.

Turns out we should have known better…

As Katie Molck, the brewery’s Marketing & Media Maven informed us, they’ve always had a European intentions and an extensive history over there.

In keeping with their name Against the Grain has long had a business philosophy that goes a little “against the grain” and Katie added “that they’d started distributing their beers in Europe the same year that they launched.”

All this on top of an almost 40 state distribution footprint here in the states.

Against the Grain Europe’s first beers, all intended for a European-wide distribution, include Neoanderthal, an American IPA and Plus One an American Pale Ale.
