In an era of “fake news” anything goes, and much of what you hear (or see on the internet), while sometimes fun, is just wrong. Which brings us to the Trump Arrogant Bastard Ale label.
We first ran across this story in the San Diego Reader, while researching and piece we’ll be doing on presidential craft beer labels. And we’d be lying if we didn’t tell you that we fell for it at first.
Maybe it was wishful thinking on our part, but this article from last October, which reported that Stone Brewing was releasing two candidate themed beers (they had one for Hillary too) was so much fun to consider that we just wanted it to be true!
Unfortunately it wasn’t…
The article was posted under small sub-header that read “Almost Factual News” but it was easy to miss, and the article itself convincing enough to send the PR people over at the Stone compound into certain media panic.
Again this Trump-themed Arrogant Bastard Ale label was never real, nor was the Hillary’s Stone American? Stout, but we REALLY WISH they both had been.
