Craft Beer and Sex In Airports

We’re not sayin’ that craft beer and sex automatically go together.  And we make no judgement about a recent survey that found that 1 in 10 air travelers find time to have sex in airports…we just thought you might be mildly interested.

And given the current availability of craft beer at most airports nowadays, we expect that at least a couple of these participants might have indulged in a drink beforehand. (Editor’s note: Okay, we know that’s a stretch…but we’re running with it anyway).

So here’s the deal…

Evidently the “mile high club” is no longer where all the action is according to a survey of nearly 5000 air travelers that was sponsored by flight shopping site Jetcost.

Airports are now THE PLACE for rampant traveler couplings.

According to the survey one in 10 Americans report that they’ve had some sort sex in an airport – while only 8 percent have done it during a flight.

In fact, the Washington Post (who broke the story that we’re co-opting) reports that while 5 percent of these airport dalliances involved strangers, most were with someone they were travelling with.

So at least there were fewer awkward introductions that needed to be rushed through, before things got more serious

And again there were no craft beer specifics in this survey and if that’s what looking for, you’d be better off HERE.

According to the survey there are all kinds of convenient places to have sex in airports…

As might be expected, restrooms are the most common place for traveler sex (42%), followed by 28 percent taking place in storage cupboards (airports have storage cupboards?).  And interestingly enough another 14 percent reported getting frisky “under a coat,” – so there’s that.

Not surprisingly, another 12 percent went upscale and reported that they’d hooked up in a VIP airline lounge which affords not only more hideaway nooks but also free food and magazines (and maybe craft beer).
