NOFX is a legendary Los Angeles-based punk rock band that’s as serious about their music as they are about craft beer. And they’re launching what might be the world’s first REAL PUNK craft beer and music festival.
The mind behind this orchestrated madness is NOFX Frontman Fat Mike.
And he’s announced the Punk in Brew craft beer & music festival, a five city September/October tour that’s named after from the band’s classic Punk In Drublic album, which has sold over one million copies.
In an almost perfect marriage of music, attitude and brewing chops, Fat Mike has teamed up with Stone Brewing and they’re brewing a tour beer, Stone & NOFX Punk in Drublic Hoppy Lager which is only going to be available in the festival markets.
Amazingly this marks the first time ever that Stone has worked with a musician on release of this kind (they even included the festival tour dates on the back of each can).
Launching in Tacoma, Washington on September 16th and wreaking havoc down the west coast till the tour wraps up, appropriately in Huntington Beach, the punk in drublic tour begins with a craft beer tasting that segways into a serious music fest with co-headliners like Bad Religion and Flogging Molly, (depending on the date).
Other punk rock luminaries like Less Than Jake, Goldfinger will be showing up at different dates in various cities.
Who knows…maybe Stone’s Greg Koch (who plays serious guitar and was once in a band signed to a major label) will make an onstage appearance?
It’s that kind of tour (and beer throwdown) and with NOFX’s Fat Mike at the helm of this thing anything could happen.
Music and craft beer have been sleeping together for forever and we love it when things like this happen…
So punk and craft beer…kinda perfect….right?
Actually we’re surprised we haven’t seen a tour like this sooner.
