The Beer Beast Is Back – Snallygaster 2017

Snallygaster, The Beer Beast Is Back – Snallygaster 2017One of our favorite craft beer events anywhere, returns to the nation’s capital this Saturday, September 23rd.

And if you’ve never attended a Snallygaster…it’s probably time to rethink how you’re living your life.

Named after a mythical dragon-like beast, thought to have inhabited the mid-Atlantic’s backwoods at the turn of the century, Snallygaster is a monstrous craft beer festival and one of the region’s most important beer events.

And if you care about craft beer, this one’s not to be missed.

Unlike so many craft beer festivals that offer a roster of predictable standards, (along with an occasional rarity thrown in), Snallygaster does just the opposite.

Snallygaster is a seemingly endless parade of rarities… hard to get beers not commonly found anywhere…and almost NEVER at the same event.

As always, the beer at Snallygaster is curated by craft beer wunderkind Greg Engert, the Beer Director for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, the people behind DC’s Bluejacket, Churchkey, Sovereign and more.

Greg lives beer and his instincts and expertise are part of what makes this festival so defining.

Snallygaster always showcases the best, and much of it you may have NEVER had the opportunity to enjoy before…

For this year’s beerganza, Greg has assembled 404 beers from all around the world. Beers like Hill Farmstead’s Arthur, a 6% ABV mixed fermenation Saison from Vermont, and the Suarez Family’s Look No Further, a 4.8% ABV Pale Ale from New York, are rarely, if ever, seen in DC.

Snallygaster, The Beer Beast Is Back – Snallygaster 2017These are the kinds of offerings that you’ll only find at the world’s most acclaimed craft beer events… outings like SAVOR, the Firestone Walker Invitational or the Beavertown Extravaganza over in London.

Clearly, we’re in the tank for Snallygaster because it’s that good…There’s not a better non-Brewers Association event on the East Coast.

And if you’ve not yet made plans to attend this year’s throwdown – you’re making a beastly mistake.
