Fall beer season is ON and winter’s not all that far away…And we’ve some interesting craft beer directions (and Great American Beer Festival winners) that you might want to chase down as the weather cools…

Something In Common (Salt Lake City, UT) – Epic Brewing has teamed up with Portland’s the Commons Brewery on an interesting new collaboration. Brewed with Colorado, Honeydew melons and rich Oregon Wheat and matured in oak foeders for more than 10 months, Common Interest is a light straw effervescent Sour with hints of honeydew and a nod to the harvest season.

Brown’s Knows (Troy and North Hoosick, NY) – Brown’s Brewing has a new Revolution Series release which is small-batch all the way. Dry-hopped out of its mind with Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic, Brown’s Intonation IPA is a piney and resinous Double India Pale Ale with an incredibly juicy mouthfeel.

Good Ideas (Birmingham, AL) – Good People Brewing will soon be releasing their newest seasonal and with winter now, sooner than later, you may need to chase this one down. Named for those in the south who buy milk and bread at the first sign of bad weather and scotchgard their jeans, Denim Downhiller Winter Ale is 5.3% ABV ode to southern winters.beer, Beer Alert – New Limited Releases, Seasonal Sours and Barrel Aged Wonders

Summit Unchained! (St Paul, MN) – Every few months at Summit, a brewer is given a crack at crafting a one-off beer all by their lonesome. With no rules, no budgets, and no outside influences, that brewer’s creation is then released as part of Summit’s Unchained Series. Summit Unchained 26: Westie 7th is a rich mahogany 7.5% ABV Belgian-Style Dark Ale that’s finished off with imported Trappist-Style Ale yeast

The BAD Batch (Indianapolis, IN) – Sun King Brewing is returning a two time GABF winner, as part of their King’s Reserve Series, and this thing’s devilish. The winner of TWO Silver medals and available now in cans, Bourbon Barrel 666: Sympathy for the Devil is a massive Belgian-Style Black Ale that’s expected to hit retail on October 26th.
