Beer Alert! New India Pale Ales For Your Weekend

beer, Beer Alert! New India Pale Ales For Your WeekendNo beer commands the kind of attention that the IPA does.  It’s America’s flagship craft beer style and apparently we can’t get enough of them. And here are some new ones you might want to chase down this weekend.

Time To Throw Away Those Fake IDs (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing is celebrating their 21st Anniversary with special limited release that steals what’s best from their favorite IPAs to create something new. Powered on the underused Pekko hop and the frequently used Mosaic, Stone 21st Anniversary Hail to the Hop Thief Double IPA is a 9.8% ABV unfiltered India Pale Ale with a welcome malt backbone.

Propagated And Now More Widely Circulated (Venice/Paso Robles, CA) – This is how it was designed to work. Firestone Walker’s Venice-based Propagator pilot brewhouse crafts Generation 1 a Citra, Mosaic and Mandarina hopped IPA. It catches fire and they take that success back to Paso Robles and brew it on a larger scale. Vibrant and insanely aromatic Firestone Walker Generation 1 is available now as a ‘draft-only’ release.

Taken For Granite (South Burlington, VT) – Magic Hat has brewed up something worthy at their Green Mountain home that they’ve proudly graduated from their VT-Only Pilot Batch program. Taken for Granite IPA (or TFG if you’d rather) is a 6.6% ABV India Pale Ale that the brewery considers to be one of the best beers that they’ve ever crafted.

Sierra Nevada’s not bailing on the IPA they introduced at the start of 2017…Just the opposite. A tropical 6.7% ABV twist on the classic, Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo has proven to be such a HUGE success that they are expanding its availability to now include cans as well.

Golden City (Everett, MA) – Surrounded as they are by New England’s IPA phenomenon, Massachusetts-based Down The Road Beer  has introduced yet another take on craft beer’s increasingly popular sub-style. Named as a homage to Australia’s aboriginal mysticism and brewed using hops from ‘down under’ Dreamtime New England IPA is a 7% ABV exploration of dankness with a floral and slightly spicy finish.
