Flaming Lips Wayne Coyne w/Dogfish Head Beer

Celebrate Music and Beer This Weekend (Everywhere USA) –This Saturday. April 21st is Record Store Day a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently owned record stores in the US and internationally. The first Record Store Day took place on April 19, 2008. Today there are Record Store Day participating stores on every continent except Antarctica (which is bad news for Antartica).

The Official Record Store Day Beer – Every year Dogfish Head brews the ‘official beer’ for this event and this year they partnered  with Wayne Coyne and Flaming Lips and crafted  Dragons & YumYums, an intensely tropical, 6.5% ABV Pale Ale brewed with a combination of dragonfruit, yumberry, passionfruit, pear juice and black carrot juice.

On The Big Screen – This weekend’s movies run the gamut from edgy comedy (Amy Schumer’s I Feel Pretty) to horror (Ghost Stories and William Friedkin’s The Devil and Father Amroth) as well as to big budget Sci-Fi flicks (Stephen Spielberg’s Ready Player One). But for a guaranteed good time there’s A Quiet Place, one of 2018’s best movies so far, and definitely the scariest!

Coachella – Week II (Indio, CA) – Possibly the nation’s finest musical event Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicked off last weekend. And the second part of this state-of-the-art musical extravaganza (April 20th -22nd) returns this weekend. And Coachella’s talent lineup over the next couple of days which includes acts like The Weeknd, Jamiroquai, Fleet Foxes, David Byrne and Eminem, promises to be some of the best ever!
