The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill

, The American Craft Beer Rumor MillYikes, September’s almost over already…and clearly nothing is slowing down anytime soon. But no worries, because Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that!

Two Beers Brewing Acquired By French Farmer Owned Cooperative (Seattle, WA) – Two Beers Brewing has reportedly been sold to the Agrial Group, a leading French agri-business cooperative, along with the Seattle Cider Company. According to Brewbound the two entities “have merged and will continue to operate independently as a single, wholly-owned subsidiary of Agrial.” Joel VandenBrink who founded both companies, will remain on as CEO to oversee both brands with the goal of maintaining the integrity of both brand and eventually expanding their distribution into Europe, Asia, and Africa.

American Craft Beer Not Acquired By French Farmer Owned Cooperative (Washington, DC) – What are we dog shit?’ asked the clearly exasperated Tom Bobak, Editor-In-Chief at American Craft Beer. “We thought famers liked us (and we even have someone on staff who once worked in a French restaurant). Someone could have returned are calls.”

, The American Craft Beer Rumor MillBad Ideas In Brewing (Greenwood Village, CO) – Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews will be introducing their new Red Robin Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale, at the Great American Beer Festival on October 6th and we’re concerned to learn that it was actually brewed to taste like a hamburger, according to Mashable. Made in association with the Innovation Brewer Dave Glor at the New Belgium Brewing this meatless “ode to ground beef” will harness the power of “apple smoked malt to give the beer its umami and meaty-ness.”

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer on occasion. And last night we hit up something eye-opening that we recently received from Drake’s Brewing. Named after the electric owl decoys that grace their San Leandro-based brewery Drake’s Electric Owl Coffee Brown Ale is exactly that, an 8% ABV coffee-infused Brown Ale with rich notes of caramel, tangy orange zest and toffee.
