It’s always fun keeping up with all the new beer releases at this time of year because they can be both familiar and totally unexpected. And here are more summertime releases that caught our attention…
Figaro, Figaro, Figaro (Portland, OR) – Cascade Brewing recently returned something very special that they’ve been aging in freshly emptied chardonnay barrels from the Willamette Valley. Figaro 2015 is a seasoned blend of sour strong blonde ales that were oak-aged with white figs, lemon peel and orange peel for up to 18 months.
Summer Jams and Cans (Crozet, VA) – With the 4th of July just days away, Starr Hill is celebrating this season of music festivals, barbeques and pool parties with the Summer Jam Can Variety 16-Pack. This first-ever 16-pack showcases four different Starr Hill beers in 12 oz. cans, three of which make their debut in the can format for this limited release package.
- Grateful Pale Ale, their remastered take on the American Pale Ale.
- The Hook Grapefruit Session IPA, fueled on hand-zested citrus.
- The Love Wheat Beer, their traditional German Hefeweizen that won a gold medal winner at the 2017 Virginia Craft Beer Cup.
- Warehouse Pils, a new 2017 Pilsner with an uber-crispness and clean malt flavor.
No Filters (Escondido, CA) – Stone is debuting a new summer seasonal that’s a tribute to their overnight brewing crew and features a rising star in bittering and aromatics, the Loral hop. Stone Ghost Hammer IPA is a 6.5% India Pale Ale that takes its name from the occasional creaking and ghostly knocking pipes sometimes heard by the overnight crew who helm the compound while the world sleeps
Peaking (Sonoma County, CA) – Bear Republic Brewing is returning a popular seasonal just in time for the Fourth of July. Part of the brewery’s Double IPA Series, 2017’s Bear Republic Apex is a rich and hoppy celebration of First Gold, Ella, Hallertau Blanc, Hull Melon and Cascade hops.
