7 Black Beers For Black Friday

beer, 7 Black Beers For Black FridayWe can probably credit Goose Island’s annual Bourbon County Brand Stout release with popularizing the association with dark ales and retail’s big shopping day. And for those of you who choose to avoid the mall like the plague…We’ve got some dark, dark, drinking alternatives.

Black Beer / The Bruery /And Linkin Park’s Dave Farrell (Placentia, CA) – The Bruery has built a special collection of black directions built on the passion and palate of Dave Farrell, bassist, Linkin Park who’s evidently a HUGE fan of big, dark, bourbon barrel-aged beers. The Bruery’s Lord Phoenix Pack is a collection of three of The Bruery’s darkest offerings (and the Imperial Stout is autographed by Linkin Park’s bassist). For every Lord Phoenix Pack sold, The Bruery will donate $10 to the Music for Relief program and here’s what’s in it!

Chocolate Rain (2017) is a decadent 19.6% ABV version of the Bruery’s bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout featuring cacao nibs from TCHO and fresh vanilla beans. And these bottles are all autographed by Dave Farrell!

The Grade is a rich, cold-fermented 7.6% ABV Baltic Porter with bold, sweet flavors of maple syrup and a touch of fenugreek (whatever that is).

Chronology: 24 – The latest installment in the four-part Chronology Series, this 17.1 % ABV Wee Heavy was barrel-aged an incredible 24 months.

Fade to Black, Vol. 1 – This 4x GABF award winning 8.5% ABV Foreign Stout pours midnight black and pummels the taste buds with bitter licorice, espresso bean and black cardamom flavor notes.

Saison au Blé de Minuit – The fourth and final beer in Left Hand’s Les Quatres Saisons Series,  this  6.8% ABV Black Saison was brewed using local Colorado barley and roasted midnight wheat.
